My Tau fighting for the greater good

Lately I have shared my Tau models and everything looks like they have been just preparing for the fight, but that is far from the truth, they have been fighting  and winning or losing battles for the greater good,

Usually the fights have been at 100 or 1500pts and here I will share some pics of them.

Here is a combined Tau-Ultramarines versus Space Wolves which is unfortunately is a messed order

the rhino from the previous picture was the first vctim of the Razorshark

Lovely green dice used as Marker lights, pretty effective as my 2 pathfinder teams were pretty barebones at 4 strong each.

The marker lights being put to good use:

The wolves trying to assault a unit, sad news for them their run wasn’t enough to reach my FW and one of them died to Over watch from @ units lucky for them they only lost one wolf here but in the next turn they died completely.

The second game that day was the same army vrs Orks, and as a matter of fact it was my loaned orks, here was an incredible game I can blame to bad dice at the end but really I lost because I forgot to move when it counted. I started as close as possible,

Orks deployed up front to close to negate my range advantage

The first to die, as soon as possible the Ork shooted my pathfinders to bits.

The lootas had a great point to shoot; my mistake was not to try to kill them with my Broadsides

my commander dying to  close combat, Tau are not made for that kind of stuff

the decisive moment where I couldn’t kill or scare those 2 defkoptas I had the game until tht point, from there it was a really close call where I lost,  Excellent game.

Something that I learned here was that SMS cannot be assaulted when TAU are near as they also benefit of the supporting overwatch as they are friendly units of the Tau, sadly I didn’t purchased the option for my flayer or it would have protected the predator.

Until next time, when I plan to share a another battle.

2013 Tournamet has passed away with a Blast

Hello, last Saturday was our tournament, It was a complete success, with 7 hours of packed warhammer action, the clear winner were the tyranid army but a challenge was issue and the Ork army nanged to snatch the prize and get the half part of the prize (some gretchings) and enabling the highest space marines to snatch the other half. a fun day to be had.  since we had a raffle and in the end I got the price now I have the resources to do another tournament  in a few days.

I left the pictures after the break:

another round at my broodlord and something more

OK today I painted a bit more my Broodlord mostly to finish details.

Along all  that I started to chop away at my second AOBR Dread to have a walking rifle dread what do you think?

Also If you look carefully you will watch the other work on my AoBR sergeant where I removed the un-helmeted head and replaced it with a troop helmet.

Final day STC showcase week

Here we are on the final day of the showcase week, I saved for the last my predator, here the change was less dramatic as you can see when comparing the past

With the present

As in the previous days the few enhancements were done freehand and I satisfied with the fact that they look good even the checkers.

lets see what more I will have for the next showcase.

Day 3 STC showcase week

I keep on showing my STC vehicles for the third day on a row on more day and the week is done, today is the turn for my Whirlwind  taken from tabletop quality

The heavy support symbols needs a bit retouching but overall I like what I see and you?

Day two STC showcase week

This week I will post about the little painting retouching I did during holy week on my STC.

This day is the turn for my Razorback

once more it has been on a tabletop painted level for about a year as you can see

DSC00012

nothing to write home about, but now I'm more proud of it, I did more freehand effects, the same mud effect and the exhaust effect.

the Ultramarines symbol is totally freehand following Sthaly’s advice, more easy said than done but good enough

I hope you like it and stay tuned for the whirlwind.

Day one STC showcase week

This week I will post about the little painting retouching I did during holy week on my STC.

This day is the turn for my Rhino.

It has been just table top painted since I decided to finally painting it last yearIMG_20120212_215350

so with the idea of getting better looking models on the dime I decided that just applying some more brush strokes would be enough, so here there is after said work was done.

first I added some mud effects, pretty newbie stuff as you can see, additionally I added the arrow and some more symbols all of them freehand
